Nature, Culture, and Human Health Network

Check out some of our recent presentations!

Who We Are

Since 2014, NCH2 has fostered a growing community of individuals, public entities, and community-based organizations involved in public health equity, environmental justice, community resilience, and habitat/biodiversity care, who are committed to promoting the beneficial connections between human health and nature.  Evidence from research and effective community programs demonstrate that equitable access to welcoming and safe nature spaces is essential to our health and wellbeing. NCH2 helps communicate these narratives-- stories that honor the culture, the heritage, the resilience of our region, and how we connect and benefit from nature spaces.
NCH2 aspires to catalyze community-based collaborations that have multiple impacts: to improve public health, to ensure equitable access to nature, and to support the health of our ecosystem.

Our Vision

We envision a Chicago region where all of its residents live, work, and play in a healthy and vibrant natural environment--with clean air, clean water, welcoming, safe and equitable access to nature spaces—an essential resource positively affecting public health and community resilience—as outlined in our Triple Aim.
